To really take care of your skin you have to take a holistic approach and have a solid plan. In this article, we will go over some of the things to avoid so you are not harming your skin when you are trying to take care of it.

1. Not sleeping enough

Life is busy for most people and it seems like there aren’t enough hours in the day to get things done. The problem is that when we get too busy we will sacrifice our sleep to get things done. This is bad for your health and bad for your skin.

If you are not sleeping much then think about what your eyes look like. They usually are puffy and have bags around them because sleep is crucial to repair the damage that your skin faces every day. It’s not called beauty sleep for nothing!

Start getting enough sleep and you will see your skin improve including the bags under your eyes. Though, some people have this problem naturally even when they get enough sleep and are good candidates to have some work done on the area around the eyes by somebody like Dr. Brandon Ball.

Not only do you need to plan your day better but you need to put a plan in place to sleep better. Make sure to give yourself seven to eight hours to sleep. Focus on improving your sleep hygiene like putting away your devices at least thirty minutes before bed.

2. Too much sun

The sun does a number on your skin so it is a battle between taking care of your skin and repairing the damage it causes. The problem is that people only think of getting sun when they are at the beach and putting sunscreen on.

The sun will not only dry your skin out but also causes a lot of damage to the skin cells. This is why some people look older prematurely. They are simply getting too much sun and often don’t realize it.

Even if you are out in the winter, your face is getting exposed to the sun. make sure to use products that contain SPF to be able to block the harmful rays.

3. Not drinking enough water

Water is essential to good skin and many people are not drinking enough. It keeps your skin looking plump and with a healthy glow. If you aren’t drinking enough the skin gets dry, saggy, and not healthy looking.

Make sure to carry a bottle around with you throughout the day so you never have to make an effort to drink. This will ensure that you are properly hydrated at all times.
